The first stop will be Casa do Penedo, an extraordinary stone house set amidst nature, offering the perfect blend of architectural wonder and breathtaking views. A guided visit to the house and property is included.
Next, immerse yourself in the rustic charm of the Moinhos do Rei mills, where you learn about centuries-old milling techniques. Depending on the season and weather conditions we will take you on a longer or shorter hike through hidden trails, historic mills and quiet streams. In the warm months of the year your guide will take you to Praia Fluvial do Oral where you can cool off with a swim and enjoy a peaceful retreat.
After building up the appetite it is time for a well-deserved lunch at a local restaurant “lost” in the middle of the mountains. Imagine sitting down at a cozy, traditional eatery, surrounded by the sounds of locals chatting, as you savor delicious Portuguese dishes made with fresh, regional ingredients. Each bite feels like a warm embrace of local culture.
Refreshed and relaxed, you set off at towards a local winery, arriving. Here, you're welcomed with open arms and invited to explore the lush vineyards that stretch out before you.
During a guided tour you will be learning about the delicate craft of Vinho Verde wine production. Additionally, we will have the chance to visit the Homestead from the XVII century and learn more about the family legacy and the architecture traces of this construction. Then, the highlight of the day: a wine tasting. As you sip on crisp whites and refreshing greens, the flavors of the land and its history come alive, connecting you with centuries-old winemaking traditions.
